One of the Swiss pioneers of the Caux centre

Gretel Trog was born in 1928 in Alexandria, Egypt, where her parents and grandparents were involved with the Oxford Group, the fore-runner of MRA and IofC. As a teenager in Egypt during World War 2, she was part of a remarkable team of British, Egyptians and others, Christians, Muslims and Jews. When her family moved back to Switzerland after the war, she became part of the team who turned the old Caux Palace Hotel into the Moral Re-Armament conference centre. She worked full-time with MRA for the rest of her life, often involved with books and publications, and running the Caux bookshop.
She maintained life-long links with Egypt and the Arab world.
