Horticulturalist, MRA full time worker

Agathe was born in Switzerland, where her father worked for the League of Nations. During World War II, Agathe studied at an horticultural college in The Netherlands. After the war, she trained as one of the first women in the Dutch Navy. Her visit to Caux in 1947 changed the direction of her life and she started to work full time for the movement. With her husband Dick, she cared for and lived in the MRA centres in The Hague and in Wassenaar and together they paid many visits to Indonesia. In the beginning these visits had to be very low key because MRA was banned by the authorities. The Indonesian people welcomed these visits and she made friends for life.
