It was a packed house for the showing of The Imam and the Pastor at the Filmhouse in Lothian Road on 9 August. On 9 August The Imam and The Pastor was screened to a full house of 90 in Cinema 2 of the Edinburgh Filmhouse. The showing was part of the Festival of Spirituality and Peace, which is one of the Edinburgh festivals taking place in this, the 60th anniversary year. The film was introduced by Victor Spence, of the Edinburgh Interfaith Association and one of the initiators of the Festival, who had met the Imam earlier this year when he was in the UK. After the showing he introduced Imam Mohammed Sajjad Asim of the Edinburgh Central Mosque, and the Rev Peter Clark, a Methodist minister whose church adjoins the Imam's mosque. These two men have been working together on various projects in Edinburgh as part of the Interfaith Association. It was the first time the Imam had been in a cinema. There were many positive thoughtful comments and reflections in the discussion that followed. It had to be terminated after about 35 minutes when time ran out in the allotted slot. Victor Spence reminded the audience that Imam Ashafa and Pastor Wuye would be in Edinburgh the following week for a 'Conversation', another event in the Festival of Spirituality and Peace, on Wednesday 15 August.
