Lyrics
In the early morning gloom, Mary came upon the tomb
She was looking for the body of her Lord
But the sepulchre was bare, 'cos Jesus wasn't there
It had happened just according to His word
He has risen, He has risen, today
Yes, He has risen, He has risen today
John and Peter heard the news, they were baffled and
confused
They ran to see if Jesus was alive
But where He once had been, they found an empty scene
And soon the word was spreading far and wide
He has risen, He has risen
The Lord is here to stay
Hallelujah, He has risen today
And everywhere around, in the country and the towns
He came to His disciples and their friends
He told them not to grieve, gave them courage to believe
And a promise that His world would never end
He has risen, He has risen
The Lord is here to stay
Hallelujah, He has risen today
