From the album: Signposts – Along the Journey of Life
Lyrics
Come from a land across the sea
Knew only war, captivity
Had a longing to be free
And my name is Refugee
Took my chance and fled my shores
Hardly knew what was in store
But better to be free though poor
Than live with tyranny at my front door
Refugee, oh refugee
You have the right to be free
Refugee, oh refugee
You have the right to be free
What's become of family
Those I love could be to me
Don't know when they'll all next see
And my name is refugee
Don't ask much, save liberty
To live a life of dignity
Elky now, this is my plea
To the Cuban family
Refugee, oh refugee
You have the right to be free
Refugee, oh refugee
You have the right to be free
Refugee
Refugee
