European show with performers from fourteen countries directed by Howard Reynolds
"Luta Er Ut" is a bold musical revue that sweeps across continents to explore humanity's past, present, and future. Featuring sixty performers from fourteen countries, this ambitious European production asks a profound question: what does our generation offer to the world? Through evocative songs, choreography, and pantomime, the show journeys from the cafés of France to the streets of Britain, Sweden, Germany, and Italy, exploring themes of collective responsibility and human dignity. The ensemble performs stirring numbers that celebrate human interdependence—from the rallying cry "All are needed when building a ship" to the poignant plea to "bring down those barriers." Yet as the production unfolds, the tone shifts to examine contemporary Europe and its troubled inheritance. In stunning final tableaux, Asia appears on stage, confronting the continent with an urgent question about its moral priorities and its responsibility to the wider world. Directed by Howard Reynolds and choreographed by Frances Cameron, with original music composed by Brian Easdale, "Luta Er Ut" challenges European audiences to reflect on whether they offer the world bread or merely stones, and whether Europe can transcend self-absorption to fulfill its true destiny.
