Charlotte (Lotty) van Beuningen was born in 1880 into one of the privileged families of Holland. In 1936 she met the ideas of Moral Re-Armament which became the well-spring of her concern for people of all classes and races. She was decorated by Queen Juliana for heroism in saving the lives of hundreds of prisoners in World War II. Friend of thousands on five continents, she recounts with humour and insight her unusual journeys over the last 33 years, meeting Kings and Presidents as well as villagers in different parts of the world.
