(Possible duplicate) The Ordinary Man

Lyrics

Every morning city dwellers,

Factory workers and bank tellers

Go to earn their keep in jobs from nine to five.

And the housewife hangs out washing,

Scrubs the floor and does the cooking,

And keeps the family happy and alive.

But if we'd care to live more selflessly,

Just starting in the family,

We'd help to build the world of peace

For which we strive.

What the ordinary man can do,

Perhaps this is the missing clue,

'Cause most of us on earth

Are ordinary people,

Living our lives the same thing every day;

But ordinary men can do extraordinary things

: lf only we would let God show the way.

There are some who earn the wages,

There are some who turn the pages,

And some with brains—and some with very few!

There are some who like the old way,

There are some who like their own way,

And some who say that all ways must be new.

And there are some who have enough to eat

And some who sleep out in the street,

Some who laugh and some who weep,

There's me and you.
