Changing Society Through Drama - Moral Re-Armament at the Westminster Theatre, London

Author(s):
Jenner's doctoral thesis on the Westminster Theatre, and MRA's use of theatre.

The book is the result of a PhD thesis to investigate the theatre of MRA which owned the Westminster Theatre from 1946 to 1997.  MRA operated a unique theatre movement which took a stand against the avant-garde drama of the twentieth century .  Its controversial plays promoted the ideology of living by the four absolute moral standards of honesty, purity, unselfishness and love.

The book includes a chapter on Peter Howard, who wrote many of the plays performed there, together with twenty seven interviews with people associated with the theatre and its outreach, including the events around the painful process that led to it being sold.
