He argues that any pursuit of power, egoism, or immoral action inadvertently strengthens this spiritual force. The sole counterprinciple is Moral Rearmament—a commitment to obedience toward God's will and the absolute moral standards of honesty, purity, unselfishness, and love. Rather than mere political anti-communism, Buchman insists the battle requires personal moral transformation across all political affiliations. This framework has energized the Moral Rearmament movement, reaching millions through Buchman's widely published birthday address and the manifesto "Ideology and Coexistence," alongside major conferences at strategic locations worldwide. The movement's annual motto, "Moral Rearmament or Communism," reflects its conviction that only humanity fighting communism on moral and spiritual grounds can achieve victory, transcending partisan politics and conventional religious missions.
