Eric Thiébaud
Swiss businessman, one of the founders of Caux
A native of Neuchâtel, Eric founded a real estate agency in Lausanne with a friend.
In May 1946, with the purchase of Caux, he became a member of the Board to help with his extensive business knowledge.
Philippe Mottu writes: "He was a man of courtesy, integrity and uprightness whose advice was invaluable in the early years of the Caux centre. In fact, in order to cope with the vast influx of conference participants, he bought the Villa Maria in 1947 and in 1949 the Alpina. He gave so much over so many years in establishing the Caux Conference Center."
Eric Thiébaud passed away peacefully at home on February 3 in his 97th year.
